Apologies for a separate thread on this one and I realise this has been the subject of threads many times over the years. But reading through the various new sources on West Ham these last few weeks, the amount of stories and noise being driven by these 2 individuals seems to be growing by the day.

Now I know I am not taing my own advice and just ignoring it all but I have a question ( well several questions) :-) . Who exactly thinks what they are doing is helping West Ham? If they are getting genuine, factual information about our transfer ambitions then who is giving them that information and why do they think its going to help? Ok it may not make a huge difference in the end on who we get or who we miss out on on I don't know? But maybe it alerts some clubs on who we are looking at and what are thoughts are in terms of fees thus leading to them outflanking us? Maybe not but if there were no leaks then it seems to me the number of sites regurgitating the same Lingard, Rice, Bowen nonsense would halve and you could perhaps see the "wood for the trees" :-) . And just seeing the club making an announcement that we have secured the services of a player without weeks of "will he, wont he" would help stress and expectation levels. Maybe thats the problem? Me getting stressed and anxious for us to resolve our squad issues and resenting the fact that these 2 sites, and the recycling and quoting of these 2 sources by other sites, raise and destroy my hopes on a constant basis.

There would still be made up stories I suppose but at least there would not be the sense that the story is from "inside" the club and likely true. Are they getting true stories from Sullivan, his kids or Gold?

And didnt Moyes say he wanted to plug all the leaks? Go about our business quietly? Why hasnt he done that with these 2 characters? Is it that they are indeed well connected to his boss ( Sullivan)? Why hasnt he asked the owners to put a lid on it? C & H and old Hugh is the more irritating of the two IMO since he argues and shouts down anyone who dares suggest he is a GSB mouthpiece. The old Shakespear line about "she ( he) doth protest too much" may be the answer or the "truth hurts". He and his "staff" particularly push Sullivan's case relentlessly. They have been attempting, for some time, to wage a subtle but still obvious campaign that suggests Moyes is the sole cause of all the transfer failures and squad depth issues and why we fell short last season. They are suggesting there is 150 million or more to spend but it is Moyes that is not spending it and no real questions about why deals take so long, discussion of the derisory bids and loan to buys offers etc that we have heard from other club chairmen. Yes Moyes has a part to play but GSB's history alone suggests they are culpable in part if not in full?

Anyway, I dont understand why, after all the criticism of GSB and now that the heat is off because the club is doing well, Sullivan thinks it helps to give out inside info, that other clubs/competitors can use and, at the same time, raise fans hopes falsely etc. Its actually not helping their cause at all. It just feels like another version of the "razzle dazzle" routine. They would be better served stopping all leaks? Unless of course it is all Moyes's fault ;-)

That Exwhu has now set up a transfer page which discusses all transfers across all teams. Even Paying someone from Sky sports to do a weekly podcast on it.

Charging people 3 quid a month for it!

Greedy fucker.

They are making some Serious money from this. Most likely quitting their original jobs.

I find myself checking out these sites pretty regularly and annoying myself in the process. C&H seem very happy to be used by the owners to give the impression we are trying to do deals and that if there’s a problem getting them done it’s Moyes’s fault not the board’s. I fear we supporters are going to be mugged off once again this transfer window. Whilst other clubs around us in the table seem to have genuine money to splurge presumably the board are looking to sell both the club and Rice next year and they won’t be splashing the cash in this summer’s transfer market despite leaking to their lackeys that they’re trying really hard to get players in.

Nearly every club has sources or people in the media that get snippets fed to them from that club which they then relay to anyone that’s interested on social media.

It goes on all the time and yes it’s often the owners of the clubs that feed the Information “Indirectly”

Just like nearly every club’s fans think their club is the only that’s not signing players quick enough or that the media is biased against them.

Its called living in a bubble.

LJC and SteveTheHammer, of course you are both correct. I do not have anytime for a man like Sullivan in any walk of life let alone as the owner of our football club and as a retired old git I am getting tighter with me money by the day. Be wrapping meself in newspaper this winter if things keep going up. :-)

I just wish they would go away as they seem to be the source of so many West Ham stories true and false with other web sites fawning over everything they say and repeating it. Spams up the interweb highway. Would love to know how Sullivan or his kids or whoever feed the snippets of info to them?. Probably just a text... "Hugh, Ex - we're in for Messi 100 million sovs"

Years ago this would have bothered me. Nowdays you've got too many people from both sides of transfers leaking information. Agents, friends, family etc. Look at most of the transfers that happen now, you know who's interested and how much they're going to pay weeks before the transfer goes through.
